John Ruffin’s Godzilla vs. Destroyah Poster with X-Plus

GIGANTIC SERIES GODZILLA 1995 AND LARGE MONSTER SERIES DESTOROYAH POSTER COMPOSITE BY JOHN RUFFIN.

John Ruffin knocked me OUT OF MY CHAIR when I saw this one! This Godzilla vs. Destroyah movie poster composite was made using photos of the Gigantic Series Godzilla 1995 and the Large Monster Series Destoroyah vinyl figures from X-Plus.

This work is a testament to the outstanding sculpts from X-Plus, and the outstanding artistry of John Ruffin. Everything about this piece is PERFECT!

John Ruffin’s Large Monster Series Godzilla 1985 by X-Plus

X-Plus 25cm Godzilla 1984 diorama shot by John Ruffin.

John Ruffin is, by far, one of my favorite X-Plus diorama photographers. His latest creation features Godzilla 1985 (going by the Dr. Pepper billboard) among N-Scale buildings. He also hid some plugs in the photo. Can you find shout outs to Kaiju Addicts, Rich Eso and Skreeonk?

I just got an email from new Godzilla fan and current Okayama, Japan resident, Ted Ekering. He says that he’s discovered X-Plus by reading Kaiju Addicts. That’s kray kray!

He had chosen the Toho 30cm Series Yuji Sakai Modelling Collection Godzilla 1991 as his first figure. (Don’t anyone tell him that it’s all downhill from here!)

Lucky for us, Ted already has a collection of TomyTec and KATO N-Scale buildings which he’s used previously for Gundam model kit dioramas.

Low angles really sell the shot!

Ted put the TomyTec Electrical Towers kit to good use here. I can’t wait for Ted to get his hands on more X-Plus and take more diorama pics!

John Ruffin has been turning out awesome images with his X-Plus collection lately like there’s no tomorrow. Here, he created a scene from Godzilla Raids Again with the help of his Toho 30cm Series Godzilla 1955 and Anguirus 1955 vinyls by X-Plus.

And just before that, John came up with this piece from King Kong vs. Godzilla.

Artist and X-Plus Collector, John Ruffin is at it again with this re-enactment from a scene in Godzilla vs. Megalon. Did you think it was a still from the movie at first? A testament to John’s skills, and X-Plus’ realistic sculpts!

X-Plus Angurius Snow Pics by Collector Steve Harron

X-Plus 25cm Anguirus vinyl in the show. Photo by Steve Harron.

Collectors have been starting to dish out more creative ways to shoot their X-Plus figures. We’ve gone through worm’s-eye-view phases, sky shot phases and are now in the midst of an n scale building phase. But Steve Harron took his Toho Large Monster Series Anguirus 1968 vinyl figure by X-Plus and placed it in something as simple as a little snow, a little light and a little smoke and took some freaking amazing shots!
