X-Plus Large Monster Series Biollante and Godzilla 1989 to be Premium Bandai Edition

Bandai promo for X-Plus Biollante and Godzilla 1989 Set.

The promised re-issue of the Large Monster Series Biollante and Godzilla 1989 Set by X-Plus has popped up on the Japanese Bandai site of all places. Seems this set can be obtained from there only. Shortly after, a page for the set appeared on X-Plus’ Ric Boy site. And based on the translation from Chrome, it seems that the set will be available only from the Bandai site. To further back that up, the order button on the Ric page leads to the Bandai site.

According to X-Plus’ Ric Boy site, the set will go up for order in June and will cost ¥59,400 (currently $500.43).

As already reported, both Biollante and Godzilla will have light gimmicks. But what’s new about that is the fact that Biollante’s belly doesn’t just glow red, it pulses too. See the video below!

If you’re worried about being able to grab a Biollante from the Bandai site, you may have another option. It seems that Biollante will be part of the new Diamond Deal. If you don’t mind not having the light gimmick and have a little patience, you should be able to get one easier from North American online retailers or your local comic shop. Crazy, huh?

X-Plus Godzilla 1989 Composite by Baby Shifty

Photoshop composite of the X-Plus Godzilla 1989 by Shifty Toy Photography.

Woah! Look at this! ‘Baby Shifty’ shot his X-Plus Large Monster Series Godzilla 1989 vinyl figure and combined it in Photoshop with several layers of environment for this awesome, kickass composite titled “The King Is Coming“. I’m especially impressed with how he highlighted the edge of the figure layer with colors from the background to make it blend in. Awesome work!
