Four upcoming X-Plus Diamond Reissues about to release.

Here’s a quick update, and reminder, for those of you collecting the Diamond Reissues including some delays and one price increase. Finally, what’s coming out next and when.

SEPTEMBER RELEASES – SAKAI GODZILLA 1992 AND BATTRA LARVA DELAYED

The 12in Series Yuji Sakai Godzilla 1992 and the 12in Series Battra Larva were expected to arrive at stores on September 27, 2017. However, Both figures have been delayed. A new release date is not yet known.

Take care when getting information from other sources as they may not yet be caught up with what is happening. (It happened to me yesterday.) Diamond is still listing Sept. 27 as the release date and has failed to update information on their sites. My contact at Diamond has told me the figures aren’t in their warehouses yet. Plus, I have checked their “On the Water” report and the only X-Plus figures currently on a cargo ship headed for the U.S. are the October releases.

Before moving on to the October releases, there’s one more thing…

BATTRA LARVA PRICE INCREASE

When Diamond first announced the 12in Series Battra Larva, the suggested retail price was set at $180. Last month, Diamond had to increase the price and set a new SRP of $229.99. That’s an increase of $49.

We suspect that they did not realize how large the Battra figure was, and how much larger its box was over the usual X-Plus sizes. Diamond finally caught on and made the adjustment.

Now, even though the SRP had been raised by $49, the actual cost for retailers went up by only $28. (There is no correlation between the amounts of both increases. Perhaps they raised the SRP even higher to make it easier for stores to justify the hike; just a guess though.)

Several stores have already adjusted their price to compensate and we have followed suit at Flossie’s.

But, please note that for all Battra preorders made at Flossie’s, the price will rise only $20 instead of $28. (It’s really all we can do and we hope it helps.)

As for when Battra and Godzilla 1992 will get around to making their way to us, no one knows. But I will be diligently checking the cargo ship lists and will let everyone know as soon as they show up.

Now, if you not happy about getting your X-Plus fix this month, don’t worry. The next two are due to arrive only one week later in October.

EARLY OCTOBER RELEASES – GODZILLA 1954 TRAIN BITER AND MECHAGODZILLA 1975 (OCT. 5)

The 12in Series Godzilla 1954 Train Biter and the 12in Series Mechagodzilla 1975 are currently listed as hitting stores on October 5, 2017. That’s literally one month from now.

Both figures are confirmed to be on a cargo ship headed for the U.S.

And, yes, we’re getting two of them at once. This isn’t really anything new, though.

Back when this deal first started, the figures came out in pairs each month. There was actually one month when we got THREE figures all at once. In October 2013, Diamond released Godzilla 1962, Godzilla 1968 and Hedorah all in one go!

So, there’s your early alert. One month to go for the ’54 Train Biter and MG’75. The September delay will hopefully give most of you the chance to charge up your wallets for October 5.

Special Thanks

I originally launched this article last night with some wrong information. I blindly followed the info provided on the Diamond retailer site and was under the impression that we would be hit with 4 figures in the space of a week.

Michael Cherkowsky, of Vampire Robots, let me know that he was told that Battra and the Sakai 92 had been delayed. And, thank god he told me. My post would have had all of you preparing for Hurricane Goji throwing 4 figures at you almost at once.

Thanks, Mike!
